Day #34 (91)-Mike the rolling trail angel and Lander shenanigans. Miles hiked: 1.5

Hikers have a lively community that functions with or without cell service. We’ve been hearing news of a truck driver who picks up hikers on a hard hitch from the middle of nowhere to Lander, WY for days. He takes groceries from Salt Lake City to Safeway and Albertson’s stores north up to Billings, MT three days a week and has let hikers know when he comes thru. You best believe we were at the road ready to meet him this morning!

We rode 40 miles right to Safeway in town with this angel. Thanks for the lift!

The rest of the day is typical town chores: eating, resupplying, cleaning up, and sending home my bear gear! My pack will be 3 lbs lighter but the mental load feels even lighter than thag. Phew…
