Day #33 (90)-Out of the mountains and into an ocean of dirt. Miles hiked: 29.9

Since we didn’t finish the Cirque Alt yesterday, we still had work to do this morning. First out of camp, I got the treat of seeing leaves start to change in the crisp air and a bull elk with his entire gang of lady elk along. He was bugling hard as mating season is quick approaching.

After one more killer climb, I left the Bridger Wilderness and started dropping down into the high desert.

Amazing how fast the landscape changed and also how handy hikers can be with our gear…even to get the last piece of trash out of bottle to lighten the load at a trailhead trash can!

With the smell of town food on our minds, we pushed miles hard during the afternoon and enjoyed a night hike since we are truly out of grizzly country now.
