Day #18 (81)-Monks, endogenous epinephrine, and another trip to society. Miles hiked: 26.6

After another lovely night under the stars, I awoke to the unfortunate surprise that I was visited by chipmonks (or maybe mice) last night. Just as I crave Fritos on trail, I suppose they wanted a salty snack so they chewed up the sleeves of my shirt.

Hope you enjoyed it, friends!

The rest of the morning was uneventful as I walked through a few passes and got to read some educational material about the path I am traveling.

However, about halfway through my day the sky grew dark and an orange haze moved in during a matter of minutes. Although the closest known wildfire is a very safe distance away, I called in a smoke report anyway to make sure I wasn’t first to witness a new one.
