Day #45-Welcome to Salida. Miles hiked: 9.2

Well sports fans…I got to the post office 1.5 hours early. Mission accomplished.

I will admit my legs were tired come this morning, especially with more snow as I climbed back up to 12,000 ft. However, thunderstorm-free skies and expansive views lessened the blow.

I even saw a new kind of wildflower I haven’t spotted yet: https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=15586CbiQ51fw8lhrS89husvnLW4HsdmE
Crazy to think these little guys come sprouting up out of earth that was likely covered in snow just a few days ago.

For the rest of the afternoon, it’s resting, eating, and enjoying the whitewater park in downtown. I’ll be out there tearing it up tomorrow!
