Day #19–Time for another pit stop. Miles hiked: 14.3

We woke up this morning happy to have a spigot to drink from and happy to not have incurred a fine for camping on a ranger station sidewalk, thanks ranger friends!

The morning was the last bit of the 80 mile road walk we’ve been on since Pie Town, but I passed a special milestone about mile 9/14–Interstate 40! Although it might take a few days, all I’d have to do is stick out my thumb to show up at home in Tennessee.

Five more miles and a visit with an Acoma woman who showed me her handmade pottery later, we arrived in Grants, NM.

Walmart runs have been made and showers have been taken…
time to tank up on veggies and take a well-deserved break!
