It’s time to take a breath. Selah. Miles hiked: 0.0

USMLE Step 2 is complete, my side of the fridge is clean, a dear friend has promised to care for the homeless for me in my absence, and I’m sure I’ve forgotten something. But nonetheless, it’s time to go. Ready or not, I’m on a plane to Tucson, AZ.

For those of you just joining in on this story, my name is Minta, better known as Blueberry on trail, and I’m embarking on the second installment of the Triple Crown of hiking. I completed the Appalachian Trail on behalf of The United Methodist Church in 2018 and have been working on my MD at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine since then. I just finished my third year of med school, and am squeezing in a hike before I complete a Masters in Public Health and MS4/the residency application process. The subject of this adventure is the Continental Divide Trail. The Pacific Crest Trail will be for dessert (later)!

At the end of the day, it’s been a long past few years for all of us. I know myself and I trust myself and that has led to my decision to take a breath and a break from life as I know it, a Holy pause. Selah.

I hope you enjoy the chance to read along on this journey, and even if it’s been one of those days when you don’t even have time to pee, take a breath anyway. For you and for all of us.
